Manhood 101 Weekly Sessions – Core Strengths Summary
1. Consistent Mentorship & Safe Space CreationManhood 101 provides a reliable, affirming environment where boys feel seen, heard, and valued. Weekly sessions foster trust, emotional safety, and positive identity formation—especially for Black and Brown youth navigating complex social pressures. This consistency builds strong mentor-mentee relationships and reinforces accountability, resilience, and self-worth.
2. Holistic Development & Leadership TrainingEach session integrates culturally responsive curriculum focused on character building, academic excellence, financial literacy, and civic engagement. Boys are equipped with tools to lead in their schools, homes, and communities—developing public speaking skills, conflict resolution strategies, and a deep sense of purpose. The program nurtures future changemakers.
3. Community Connection & Intergenerational ImpactManhood 101 bridges youth with local leaders, educators, and professionals—creating a pipeline of opportunity and exposure. Through guest speakers, service projects, and family engagement, the sessions extend beyond the classroom to activate legacy, strengthen community ties, and promote generational healing and wealth-building.

Prince George's County RC Racing League
2nd Annual Prince George’s County R/C Racing League
Manhood 101, Inc., in collaboration with Prince George’s County Parks and Recreation, proudly presents the 2nd Annual Prince George’s County R/C Racing League for the 2025–2026 program year.
Building on the success of its inaugural season, this county-wide initiative continues to engage youth through hands-on STEM learning, competitive racing, and leadership development.
Program Overview
Nine racing teams will be established—each representing one of the nine Prince George’s County Council Districts. Teams will consist of: - One adult coach - Six primary student participants - Three alternates - Youth must be affiliated with Prince George’s County middle schools, high schools, Parks and Recreation centers, or the Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club.
- Equipment & Entry: Each team will receive one remote-control racing car, provided at no cost. There is no entry fee for participation in the league.
The league will host five official races throughout the season.

Congressional Awards
The United States Congress established The Congressional Award in 1979 to recognize initiative, service, and achievement in young people. It began as a bipartisan effort in both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives. The original bill was sponsored by Senator Malcolm Wallop of Wyoming and Congressman James Howard of New Jersey.
Participants earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Certificates and Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Each level involves setting goals in four program areas; Voluntary Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration.
Participants are eligible to register with the Award at 13 1/2 years old. Participants are eligible to submit completed record book applications when they reach the age of 14 years old. It is mandatory that every eligible boy in our Manhood 101 Mentoring Program register. Our mentors and advisors are dedicated to guiding our boys on their important journey toward achieving that coveted Gold Medal. Mentorship plays a crucial role in nurturing our young boys, providing them with the support and resources they need to excel both in and out of the classrooms. The Role of Mentorship

They serve as trusted advisors, encouraging personal growth and resilience. Skill Development: Through personalized training and feedback, mentors help our boys refine their skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for life. This includes not only technical skills but also mental preparation and strategic thinking. Building Confidence: A strong mentor-mentee relationship fosters confidence in young athletes, empowering them to take risks and push their limits.
